I'm weird I have a wishlist of technological items to use in your home. I've always had this wish list of technological items that I have always wanted for my home.
The Samsung Family Hub Fridge b has Samsung technology built into it including a tablet like surface on the door which includes the usual clock and temperature display as well as the ability to display and sync with the Samsung calendar. You can even include photos on the fridge tab (what I'm calling it) and you can connect with other apps. The fridge also would incorporate Samsung Galaxy camera technology by taking photos of the inside of the fridge every time you open it so that you always can remember what you have in the fridge.
Samsung also talked about working with certain grocery ordering systems and including it in the fridge tab so that those that use a delivery system can easily adapt their order as needed.... Plus just think of all the grocery/food/fridge and a shopping related apps you can sync to already and just use to organize your fridge to its full ability. I mean I'm sure there are even apps you can use to track when things expire so that in theory your fridge could remind you itself when stuff goes bad.
ugh am I the only one freaking out about this Samsung fridge. most people at the technology earlier this month called it ridiculous and unnecessary and I'm just sitting here imagining all the possibilities. All that said the fridge is already estimated to be over $5000 usd so there's no way I'm ever going to afford it :(
Why I want it
- The ability to take my love of organizing and the ease of doing so and take it a step further by incorporating it to my fridge game
- The idea of the tablet abilities such as having a family calendar that's controllable through your Samsung Technology. This would also mean helping eliminate huge amounts of paper waste by being able to skip needing a giant Mom's Organizing style calendar
- I believe it will help eliminate food waste. I'm Sure there's apps you can download or sync up to that allow you to track when you bought stuff as well as being able to add/keep track of when things expire. The picture ability would also possibly be able to help with waste by reminding you what you have in the fridge as your shopping in real time.
- There will also probably be apps for organizing shopping lists
- I'm sure there would be apps for you to help organize, plan out and display your menu planning most likely even being able to display your current recipes.
- It has blue tooth speakers so you can listen to stuff as you cook - SO hey you could have audio cookbooks walk you through cooking
- It's shiny and has cool fridge based things like cooling technology and I like the 4 door system.
LG Twin Wash
It has two washers included in the system a typical Full size front load washing machine alongside a bottom pull out half washer. Not only can it do two loads at once but it can also connect to technology. In other words you can literally control your washing machine using your phone/tablet. I'm fairly certain this particular style of washer and the dryer [which isn't as cool] was featured on Hockey Wives [season 2?]
Why I want it
- Um Hello WASHING TWO LOADS OF LAUNDRY AT ONCE. Mind you the bottom washer is called a "side-kick" and can only handle 3lbs aka half loads. It's meant to say wash your whites or delicates and what not, whilst washing the full size load.
- I ALSO LOVE the idea of a "Smart" washer that can be controlled by your phone/tablet. You can literally start your laundry [mind you so long as there's soap in it] anywhere at any time. Also when I saw this reviewed on TV I'm pretty sure the guy told you that there was the ability to send reminders to your phone. Hello no longer forgotten washed and now smelly clothes [not that I personally do that but it's happened to me at work/and in my house before]
- I also like the sleek modern design.
- It also has a vast more modes than my current washing machine which is decade[s] old but not nearly as OLD AS MY DRYER.
Sidenote: Ironically I don't need a washer as critically as I do need a dryer but omg smart technology & duo loads is at the top of my wish list.
Second Side note: Unfortunately the matching dryer does not have duo dryer units hence it's old school one giant dryer.
My other wishlist features products that I saw on a Marilyn Dennis Show - See the article here http://www.marilyn.ca/AtHome/segments/Daily/Jan2016/01_18_2016/HomeInnovations
My Favorites from that segment include
- SkyDrop Lawn Sprinkling System that can connect to and monitor local weather and adjust itself accordingly. You Can also control it manually. As someone who lives in a desert and takes water conservation seriously this item was a HUGE Deal to me.
- NanoLeaf Smarter kit/Nanoleaf Bloom - by using the Nanoleaf bulbs you can control the lighting in your house to the nth degree from creating room by room lighting settings and it can connect with smart hub devices allowing you more freedom to control it. Which I believe it means you can control your smart hub using a smart device - meaning the freedom to control lights from your phone.
- Smart Vent allows you to control your Home heating via your cellphone/tablet. You can manipulate and control such things as allowing heat in certain rooms and creating personalized room by room heating settings.
Another set of smart products I like
It's a Smart Hub which allows you to connect to and control various Smart devices in your home via your tablet or smart phone. Samsung Smart things includes things like sensors [or video monitors] for inside/outside your home, outlet plug ins, or you can get a home monitoring pack which is like a sample of each of the products [minus the video camera.]
Why I like it
- The benefits of controlling all of your smart devices
- The sensor systems which can act as a security system streaming updates to your phone [the camera would be helpful for this.]
- The outlet plugins allow you to monitor your electronics
- The Hub connects to hundreds of smart devices allowing you to neatly access, control and monitor all of your devices through one little hub which you can control via the app.
I'll end this with what I got last year which i always wanted
The Samsung Galaxy Cameras in general were like a Camera - Samsung Tablet hybrid Combining a digital camera with the ability to edit it and instantly upload it to several platforms instantly.
Why I wanted it
- The Tablet hybrid aspect
- Recording Videos - For some reason my computer always made uploading YouTube videos an insane task. Once I uploaded the content to the computer I then had to stay on the computer/YouTube page for at times 12 hours just to upload videos. Where as when I first started doing YouTube Vlogs I did record from my phone and just directly upload to YouTube which bypassed all the fuss.
- After lots of research I learned that this was actually pretty decent when it came to Digital Camera type specs so I knew I wouldn;t be losing out on quality in lieu of ease of upload.
What I love
- Easy and instant upload
- Having two batteries and a battery charger [Came with my bonus travel pack & not with the actual camera]
- The Android/Samsung Operating System with full Wifi
- The physical look of the camera [looks old but sleek]
- The Microphone and ZOOM Capabilities.
What I don't love
- It can be fussy to focus in particular when recording videos
- The sometimes dark aspect to photos/vidoes [mind you with videos I can't use flash so this is a problem more so for videos]
- The SMALL 6 GB internal memory. Unfortunately at the start the the Operating system did take up most of the memory to begin with and it now requires 4 GB to operate. Which means you have just a few gigs of space to use for apps you want on the actual internal memory such as editing applications/YouTube/FaceBook/IG.
